The Oliver Tennis Club welcomes you to our home page. Here you’ll find information on court reservations, tournament plans and contact data, as well as information that can be downloaded.

Reserved Court Times

The following court times are reserved for Club member use:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday from 8am to noon - Adult drop in

Monday & Wednesday from 3 to 5pm - Youth drop in

Monday from 5 to 7pm - Adult drop in

Wednesday & Thursday from 5 to 8pm - League play

Club members have priority for courts during these times; if there are unused courts, non-members are welcome to use them until club members require them.

 
Membership

Membership applications for the 2011 season are being emailed to last year’s members. The 2011 membership fees are $35 for adults and $20 for seniors & students. Membership applications are also available at the Parks and Recreation office. Membership benefits include drop in play on designated days, tournament and social activities and an email distribution system for club information.

2011 Club Executive

Following the members survey in mid-May, the club elected a new executive to manage club business for this year. For information on the club, please contact:

 

Duffers Drop In - Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings you'll find lots of tennis players at drop in. The focus is on friendly recreational tennis. Drop in starts at 10am early in the year, but will start earlier as the weather improves.

Tournaments

  • Peter Perkin Memorial Tennis Tournament -  The first annual Perkin tourney was held on May 7&8, 2011. Our former Vice President and tennis instructor would have been pleased with the turnout and the play. Teams from as far north as Williams Lake and as far south as Omak competed in three divisions.
  • ‘Get to Know You’ Tournament - a fun, one day tournament and social is being planned for June 25 for club members only. This is a new event this year and is designed to accommodate all skill levels. Players enter as individuals (not teams) and will play doubles tennis with different partners and against different players each set. More information will be sent to members when it becomes available.
  • Fall Tournament - the 3rd annual fall tournament is tentatively planned for the weekend of September 10 & 11, 2011. Keep these dates free. More information to follow.

Volunteers and work parties

Bob Wylant(assisted by various volunteers) has been managing the maintenance of the nets and windscreens on behalf of both the club and Parks and Recreation.
